Custom Christmas Prop Design
As we look ahead to the 2026 season, Christmas Props Australia is now welcoming enquiries for custom Christmas prop design. Custom props enable you to create something unique to your display, designed specifically for your space, layout, and vision. To ensure the best possible result, here’s how our custom design process works and what we need from you to bring success to your display.
Start with a sketch and measurements
We strongly encourage customers to provide a sketch of their custom prop, along with clear measurements. Your sketch does not need to be to scale or professionally drawn. A simple hand-drawn sketch is perfect.
A picture tells a thousand words and helps us quickly understand your idea. All measurements should be provided in millimetres, which is our preferred unit. Clear dimensions help ensure your prop fits exactly where you intend it to go in your display. Get started by going to our store and clicking on the Custom Prop icon CLICK HERE
Clear communication matters
As Christmas Props Australia continues to adapt to a changing market, our focus remains on quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Custom prop design is a detailed and time-consuming process. To get it right the first time, we rely on clear, detailed, but concise communication throughout the design stage. The better we understand your expectations, the better the final result.
Your custom prop stays unique
We want your display to stand out. If we design and build a custom prop for you, we will not sell that design to any other customer in the year it is made. This gives you time to showcase your one-of-a-kind prop without seeing it elsewhere.
If you want your prop to remain a true one-off forever, simply let us know before we start the project.
Custom design cut-off dates
Custom prop design cut-off is July each year.
Your custom order must be fully agreed with us before 30 July. This ensures we have sufficient time to design, cut, and ship your prop so you can prepare it for your display in the same year.
We currently taking orders for custom design; however, as the days and months fly by, availability may become limited, particularly as we approach July.
If you’re unsure about availability, then we always recommend a quick phone call to confirm.
Pixel count and pixel density planning
Custom props with high pixel counts or high-density pixel layouts require careful planning. These designs can look incredible, but also mean that you need to take power requirements, controller capacity, wiring, and sequencing. These considerations must be discussed and agreed upon at the time of ordering.
Other issues include the need for a wiring diagram and xLights xModels to import the model. Remember to discuss these up front so the outcome is what you expect.
A small family business you can talk to
Christmas Props Australia is a small, family-based business. We pride ourselves on high-quality workmanship, honesty, and clear communication.
You should always feel comfortable picking up the phone and talking to us about your show, your ideas, and your expectations. Those conversations often lead to the best results.
